Cobell vs. Kempthorne  - A restitution settlement of $455 Million instead of $47 BILLION for 120 years of mismanagement of Native trust funds. The lawsuit sought accountability from the US government for all royalties due since 1887 from seized lands.

Filed in 1996, by Elouise Cobell, the lead plaintiff in what was the largest class-action lawsuit against the US government. Plaintiffs say they’re considering an appeal.
